What is one skill, interest or talent of yours that makes you GREAT at your job?

Empathy isn’t typically seen as a crucial skill in cybersecurity. Yet, leading with empathy builds deeper connections and understanding of people’s worries and concerns, which helps me craft effective protection strategies tailored to unique problems.

What advice would you give a woman who wants to pursue a cyber career but doesn’t think they are qualified?

Career success in cybersecurity requires more than just technical expertise. Actively seek professional learning and growth opportunities, such as online classes, licenses, and other resources that teach hacking basics. Nurture a network of peers and mentors who can provide guidance and support and connect you with career opportunities.

How can we attract more women to the cybersecurity industry?

We must challenge the stereotypes and biases discouraging women from pursuing cybersecurity careers and educate hiring managers and recruiters about unconscious biases, emphasizing the importance of fair and inclusive hiring practices.

What do you love about working in the cybersecurity industry?

I can be at the forefront of innovation, helping organizations adapt and strengthen their security posture. I love driving organizational change and the challenge of staying ahead of cyber threats while finding creative solutions to protect against them.
