Ticiana Chicourel

Director, Deloitte
Brazil

“Cyber is for everyone. I’m a new executive in the field and I believe my accomplishments came from viewing cyber from a different perspective. I’m always trying to put a positive light on the cyber agenda.”

A seasoned cybersecurity trailblazer, Ticiana’s career journey embodies nothing short of bravery, perseverance and growth. Deloitte was her launching pad into consulting nearly 18 years ago, focusing on human capital.

Years later, she led one of Deloitte’s first risk advisory operate services centering on ethics and compliance in Brazil and was recruited to join Deloitte’s cyber team, catapulting her into the cyber world. She embraced the challenge, knowing there was much to learn and adapt to. She advocates for sharing women’s cyber stories so girls and women realize they can do it, too.

What is the first thing you do to start your day?

I begin with a prayer, coffee, news and indoor biking.

What is your biggest strength as a leader?

I’m always genuine in my relationships, this helps make my connections with my team stronger. I’m courageous. I needed to have the courage to get a career in this space and do new things in cyber that haven’t already been done.

How has being a woman shaped your experience in this industry?

I was very fearful and had imposter syndrome. Then, I started following my intuition. Intuition allowed my characteristics to connect with my job. It’s what brought me here.

What do you love about working in the cybersecurity industry?

That I have a purpose, and my impact on society is huge! I’m not just keeping companies safe from attacks. I’m also helping people live in better, safer environments by protecting them from all kinds of threats.
